Hotel Tugu Blitar, unprecedentedly the best hotel and restaurant in Blitar, East Java, is housed in a colonial East Javanese mansion that was built in the 1850s, making it the oldest hotel in Indonesia, with giant white-washed pillars, furniture from the late 19th century and the early 20th century, nostalgic photographs and elegant chandeliers.

| An excellent unique museum boutique hotel "Hotel Tugu Blitar is the highlight of this historic city. While strolling around the relaxed city and seeing the sights linked to nations founder Sukarno as well as numurous ancient hindu temples its the hotel itself which combines the best of Blitar. The hotel is housed in a building that dates back to 1850. Lots of artifacts, paintings and memorabilia is dedicated to the colonial times until Sukarnos presidency. It is a step back in time combined by incredible Javanese hospitality and cuisine. The staff is very helpful, humble and friendly you actually do not want to leave. The restaurant is absolutely outstanding. Original recipes of East Javanese and Peranakan as well as Dutch heritage cuisine are preserved here and cooked to perfection. | Stop by here from Kediri, and I didn't regret it. Blitar so lovely, the people there super polite and friendly, I went to visit our first president grave, Soekarno, so magical.. and this hotel was all I need to complete the trip. Excellent service, warm vibes and I love their bath up, they cover it with copper! |
